Feb. 28, 2012 Atlanta: Georgia State Representative, Pedro Marin spoke against the bill Tuesday. About 75 students and educators from the USG (University System of Georgia) and Ga. Public Schools held a press conference and rally at the Georgia State Capitol Tuesday, Feb 28, 2012 against Senate Bill 458. SB 458, a new bill that would ban undocumented students from public higher education, and make amendments to HB 87, passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee last Wednesday. Groups represented by The Georgia Undocumented Youth Alliance, ACLU of Georgia, Freedom University, Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights, USG Students and Educators, K-12 Students and Educators, Senator Nan Orrock and others voiced their concerns about Senate Bill 458 on the Washington St. side of Georgia State Capitol.
