Laura Pontari, Staff Writer

Laura Pontari is a third year studying Economics, Political Science, and Spanish, while pursuing her dual degree with a Masters in Public Administration. She currently serves as a Legislative Intern in the office of Georgia State Representative Spencer Frye, and this experience has fed her passion for all things political. Her love of writing and politics has resulted in her involvement in Georgia Political Review, as well as serving as Content Editor for the campus publication The Chapel Bell: A Positive Press Publication. Her research endeavors involving funding in the Philadelphia School District were published in The Roosevelt Institute’s 2015 Ten Ideas Series, and will be presented at the 2015 Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities Symposium. Laura’s additional campus involvement includes the Student Alumni Council, The Roosevelt Institute, Whatever it Takes UGA, UGA HEROs, and LeaderShape UGA. This summer she looks forward to interning in her home city of Philadelphia for the Mayor of Philadelphia in the city’s Department of Finance.
