Charlie SpaldingStaff Writer

Charlie Spalding is a senior from Saint Simons Island majoring in History and minoring in Philosophy. In the summer of 2012, he was a participant in the UGA Honors in Washington internship program and worked in the Washington, D.C. office of Senator Johnny Isakson. He is currently conducting undergraduate research on speed traps and clip joints on US highways in rural Georgia and their relationship to Southern identity. He is a participant in the Certificate in Personal and Organizational Leadership program administered by the Institute for Leadership Advancement, Golden Key Honor Society, and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Additionally, Charlie has volunteered with Junior Achievement of Georgia and the Thomas Lay Afterschool program. Some of his hobbies include playing golf, watching the Atlanta Braves, and bike riding. He is interested in attending law school after graduation.
